    just doing scales every day can eat up 10-15 minutes - and by then you're warmed up and you want to sing. same with piano - after doing scales, it doesn't feel right to stop without actually playing a few songs or work on an idea

    Hello, Victoria! Your videos really help me in improving my voice and just for 2 weeks of practicing 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week, I see real changes, like singing with right breathing, being able to sing louder and stronger and the most important, it sounds beautiful (more than before I start)! So I'm proud to say that my voice is better and all with your help! ❤🎤

    This is what I do, is it good, or should I change how I practice? I work every weekday, and my work is 20 minutes away, so on my way there I sing, I do some drills, like sirens and stuff, and then I turn on my Bluetooth and play the song I’m working on and sing it over and over again, sometimes rewinding back to a part I’m bad at. I do this to and from work, so in all, 40 minutes every week day.

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious 19 годин тому

      While that is nice, practicing where you can stand and focus solely on your singing would be better. Maybe try adding 10 minutes of practice from home?

  • @NatashaCreatesThings

    Thank you!! Good to know short sessions are still helpful. I’m a beginner and finding it hard to fit in half hour or 45 min sessions even every couple of days, so will try shorter and hopefully can do that more often! I find my mood really impacts my practice - if I’m anxious or down I tend to avoid it, but maybe I could do ten min sessions those days… thanks!

    • @Victoria-Victorious

      I always say that exercises are what will build and train your voice, not your song. Try to get in a few minutes of exercises first, before your song.

    Thank you Victoria!! I found your channel November 2023 and have been watching your videos ever since. With your lessons I am happy to report that I now can sing more freely and openly. No more nasley sound, yeah! I can relate to what another subscriber of yours had said. They said that they tend to listen to more male songs than female because then they can't sound like them and that's what I do. I wanted to hear myself and I finally have. Listen, I'm no Celine Dion or Whitney but I can now sing My Heart Will Go On🙂 and I sure do have fun with it! I try to sing I Will Always Love You but I'm going to accept that it's not going to happen for me and that's ok but I'm gonna keep trying. I just really wanted to thank you for all of your help and guidance. I will continue to watch your videos as I learn something new all the time! I love how real and honest that you are 💗

    I realized a lot of mainstream artists dont use this technique. Especially a singer like whitney who visually uses even her shoulders when singing.. my vocal coach is an opera singer so it makes sense the more research I do being that the stomach technique is a popular technique for Italian opera singers. Interesting though.. i was watching bruno, beyonce, adele.. and i was confused on why they dont use their stomach 😂

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious День тому

      Most contemporary style singing does not require the same amount of breath as opera. Also, good breath support is not something that is very noticeable because the movement is very small and contained. You are not supposed to see the abs protruding with proper breath support.

    Something that I’ve noticed lately is my singing is so boring, I’ve finally gotten to the point where I have a decently good tone quality, however when you see me singing you’re like alright he sounds good nothing special. Something that I realized is that I was so focused on technique and sounding good I forgot the whole reason I was singing which is to tell a story. So something that really helped me was your advice on the monologue, not keeping a dead pan expression and to really tell it like a story.

    When I was a kid I was embarrassed of my tone when singing naturally because it was so full and throaty and made me sound older. I spent years training it higher and tighter and was able to sing very pretty but never had access to a chest voice or a belt that didn't hurt. I'm glad to have other tones in my back pocket but singing everything is so much easier now that I am becoming more comfortable accessing that back of throat resonance.

    Looking at the vocal programs, how do I know what my voice is? I don’t believe I’m Baritone although I can sing deep. How do I choose the best program?

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious День тому

      In answer to your question, each program covers 2 1/2 octaves in range. If singers are not sure of their voice type, I recommend ordering alto/mezzo-soprano for women and bass/baritone for men, especially for beginners. That is for lower to medium voice types, so unless you consider your voice to be high, this should work. If not, you have 30 days to switch to the higher voice category. Some singers do order 2 programs if they have a large range.
